Gerardo Flores’ leap from 13,000 feet turned into a near-death experience when his parachute opened too early.

He blacked out and suffered broken ribs and a lacerated tongue upon landing. It could have been much, much worse.

In fact, an FAA agent told him “you are the luckiest man I ever met.”

Well, except for the serious injuries, of course.
