Russia Is About to Ban Sexy Panties

Bad news for our Eastern European brethren. Sexy panties are about to be outlawed in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Not because of antiqued notions about sexuality (although Russia knows all about that), but because of a ban on synthetic lace.

Yes, lace, that sexy, sort-of-there fabric that all gentleman love, is about to be banned by the bulk of the former U.S.S.R. From International Business Times:

The ban is aimed at protecting customers from cheap materials that could have a negative health impact. However, the bureaucratic wording means that underwear made of non-natural material that does not meet a 6% absorption threshold will be prohibited.

Which is apparently most underwear, unbeknownst to me.

According to experts, an array of clothing outlets in Russia will have to bin 90% of their stock if the law is not amended before the summer.

And, worse, hot Russian women will be forced to wear boring old cotton underwear. 🙁

I’d say we should do something about this, but it’s Russia and they will kill us if we interfere. Kill us dead.
