Over the course of two months, Shane Black and two friends left their "comfortable" jobs and and spent six months traveling the country in an old Dodge Caravan with no cruise control. They logged 13,000 miles on the car. The trio taught at photography workshops along the way, logging countless hours on the road and, presumably, endless games of "Who the fuck just farted?" Magical.
After returning home, Black created "Adventure is Calling," a time-lapse video set in 32 states and accompanied by The American Dollar's "Signaling Through The Flames." As he told Vimeo, it was really difficult to pull off. "This trip was a constant test for me, as we had such short and limited time in nearly all of the spots we visited. In most cases, I'd have to hurry out of the van with all of my gear and find a decent composition in a very short amount of time as soon as we would arrive at the location. It was a constant race against the light." The result, though, is predictably great.
Get ready to quit your job and hit the road. Or at least briefly imagine it.
