Moore, OK was hit hard yesterday by a mile-wide tornado that has left the residents of the Oklahoma City suburb trying to piece their lives together today. The word last night was that the the total body count might reach as high as 91. Thankfully, that number is going down as the chaos of the storm recedes—it might now be "only" 24, and emergency personnel were able to recover, from the rubble, 100 people alive last night. This is somewhat hard to believe after watching this camera phone footage of the beast bearing down. But it's great news.
Another piece of great news: The below CBS News interview, which you might want to either watch solo. A woman, standing in front of her ruined home, is recounting to her interviewer how she survived a direct hit from the twister. She says that her little dog wasn't able to make it. Then, all of a sudden...
If you're a dog lover, this'll kill you. It's cinematic, it's unreal. It's also one of the saddest, yet most uplifting, things I've seen in a while.
