New York Grocery Store Launches ‘Man Aisle’

New York City's Westside Market has developed a potentially ingenius idea for the future of male shopping—"the Man Aisle." The grocery store on 110th Street has devoted an entire aisle to alcohol, men's shampoo, razors, condoms, steak sauce, and other male necessities.

According to the New York Post, the idea came about when COO Ian Joskowitz and CEO George Zoitas read a study that said 31 percent of men now do the grocery shopping for their families.

So the duo called some bros over to their man cave — a small office on the store’s second floor — and started jotting down ideas for what they call “The Man Isle.”

“We picked a couple of joke items — we could have chosen any ordinary coffee, but we picked Chock full o’Nuts,” Joskowitz said, chuckling. “But then a couple of us got a little overboard, so we tried to tone it down to not offend anyone.”

“Guys don’t like taking lists when they go shopping,” Zoitas added.

“This helps them remember what they need.”

Not a bad idea at all.

Of course, it might be a good idea to occassionally also venture outside of the Man Aisle. In a press release sent to BroBible, Westside Market highlighted the aisle's BBQ items, and its "different hot sauces, beer, cereal, soda, and beef jerky." Not a lot of mention for vegetables. So while you may weigh 300 pounds if you exclusively shopped there, at least you've saved some extra time for the gym?
