Lipton’s Brisk Iced Tea Revives ‘That’s Brisk, Baby!’

In the late 1990s, during a commercial break on a Super Bowl Sunday, one of the most recognized advertising campaigns of the decade was launched, coining a catch phrase that would be repeated in throngs for the coming years: “That’s Brisk, Baby!” Using the art of claymation, Lipton’s Brisk Iced Tea brought to life some of the most iconic Bros of 20th-century pop culture: Babe Ruth, Rocky Balboa, Frank Sinatra, Bruce Lee, the Karate Kid, and more.

After nearly a decade in hiding, the campaign is back, but with a couple of twists. First, the commercials are done using puppets and stop-motion animation and, second, the focus is not so much on pop culture characters as it is on infamous cult icons. Before the holidays, Brisk quietly rolled out two new editions to the series, one starring Ozzy Osbourne and the other starring "Machete," the badass lead character played by Danny Trejo in Robert Rodriguez’s 2010 blood, guts, and babes grindhouse flick. After the jump, check out the new Brisk commercials and a few of the originals commercials, as well as some exclusive content on what goes into making these videos.
