Ricin—a naturally occurring poison weaponized in the early 20th century, and, subsequently, made known to most of us via the fourth season of Breaking Bad—is in the news in a big, bad way this week. Yesterday, a letter addressed to Mississippi Republican Sen. Roger Wicker tested positive for the poison. And today, another letter, this one addressed to President Obama, was also found to be laced.
Luckily, officials intercepted the letter before it made it to the White House. And, according to NBC, federal officials believe they know who sent the letters. So hopefully this all will be wrapped up shortly.
