Not to be the type of prick who judges other people's taste in music, but apparently the dark, German metal band Rammstein is still around. Who knew? In fact, a quick Google search tells me the group is currently in the midst of their first tour in the United States in 10 years. Last week the tour rolled through the Izod Center in New Jersey. That's where an audience member got out of control and ran onto the stage. As everyone knows, usually when this sorta thing happens a few big venue security guys beat the unruly dude into submission. Not the case at a Rammstein show, where the lead singer is apparently armed with a flame thrower. Before the guy on stage could become a threat and ruin the show, the lead singer aimed his flame thrower and pulled the trigger, dousing him with a spray of flames. After three shots, the guy goes up completely in flames. Rather than stopping, dropping, and rolling, he panics and runs around with stage with his clothes ablaze before security pats him out with a blanket. Maybe this sorta thing happens all the time at Rammstein concerts, along with the requisite fire orgies and worship of the winged Teutonic barbarian overlords? Or maybe it was staged? Regardless, f-that. It's kind of a surreal spectacle to behold and a good -- if not frightening -- lesson in crowd control. Skip the BS in the video below and start watching at the 3:00 mark. That's when things really start to heat up (no pun intended).
