Watch Two Former Fighter Pilots In Jetpacks Fly Up To An Airbus A380 Jet Liner Above Dubai

Former Swiss fighter pilot Yves Rossy is no ordinary rich millionaire playboy. He’s Jetman, meaning he soars around exotic places like Dubai or the Grand Canyon on a jetpack that might as well be a real-life superhero toy. Back in May, Rossy soared around Dubai in formation with his wingman Vince Reffet. The video EXPLODED — He knows how to capture the Internet’s imagination.

He’s back now, this time flying with his sidekick around an Emirates Airline Airbus A380 commercial jet above Dubai. It’s like ariel ballet — Rossy and Reffet get awfully close to the MASSIVE jet engines on the jet liner and fly right up next to the wings. It kind of makes you wonder what it’d be like to be on a flight, sipping a double scotch in a window seat, and looking out to see a guy with a jetpack waving at you from the outside. I’d pee my pants a little bit before panicking.

Here’s how they coordinated the flight, via Jetman’s website:

The carefully choreographed aerial showcase involved the world’s largest passenger aircraft flying at 4,000 feet in two holding patterns. The A380 aircraft was then joined by the Jetman Dubai duo, experienced pilots and operators of the smallest jet propelled wing, who were deployed from a helicopter that hovered above the aircraft at 5,500 feet. The duo conducted formations on both sides of the aircraft and joined to one side thereafter before breaking away.

If you’re rich in Dubai and have “fuck you” money, flying around the biggest airplane known to man on a jetpack is certainly a more fun way of spending it than destroying a $400,000 Lambo.

What an amazing time to be alive — We literally have dudes on jetpacks flying up to jumbo jets. Teleportation, you’re next.
