Here, all this time we heard the Iranian people chanting “Death to America,” we thought they meant “Death to America.” Like, down with the Great Satan in a very real fiery ball of fiery death. But nahhh, says Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
In an interview that will air on 60 Minutes, he said it was just a metaphor.
“Our people respect the American people. The Iranian people are not looking for war with any country. But at the same time, the policies of the United States have been against the national interests of Iranian people, it’s understandable that people will demonstrate sensitivity to this issue.”
So don’t worry. Iran is totally absolutely never going to nuke us.
