Interactive U.S. Map Shows The Most Popular Fraternities In Each State

If you’ve been following the news recently, fraternities are on this country’s shit list. From a Florida State frat bro biting off hamster a head to Dartmouth College’s Alpha Delta branding the ass of one it’s pledges, fraternities across America are under a watchful eye from the powers that be.

These incidents can often undermine the benefits of Greek life: higher graduation rates, enhanced social and professional networks, community service, and always having a brother to get fucked up with.

TIME has unveiled an interactive map detailing the popularity of fraternities in its respective state by mapping thousands of chapters across 794 campuses.

And the top three most popular frats in the country are…

  1. Kappa Sigma
  2. (Tie) Tau Kappa Epsilon, Alpha Phi Alpha
  3. Sigma Alpha Epsilon

Kappa Sigma has a grip on the Northeast and the South and is the most common frat in nine states.

Sigma Alpha Epsilon is the most popular frat in the West, with 26 chapters in California alone.

The map also allows you to search for individual fraternities to see where its chapters are located.

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
