Bro Spends Days Off From Work Giving Homeless Something Few People Ever Thought To Give

On my short walk to work I probably pass at least a dozen homeless people. After a while, they just become a part of the landscape. Unless they’re doing something insane like carrying around a pickle jar full of their own feces or screaming the lyrics to Billy Joel’s My Life at passing subway trains.

Nasir Sobhani is a 26-year-old barber who took notice of the homeless people in his town. Probably because he almost became one of them not long ago.

Just a few years ago, the 26-year-old was battling a drug addiction. After finishing a rehab program, his family suggested he follow his hobby and his passion — cutting hair. “It’s my new drug,” he explains in this video for Plgrm.

Now nicknamed “The Streets’ Barber”, Sobhani spends his days off bringing fresh cuts and fresh perspectives to the homeless of Australia.

Sobhani isn’t just giving these people a haircut. He’s giving them a piece of their dignity back. Sobhani’s story was featured in a video at Plgrm and the dude is straight up inspirational.

The stories and pictures on the Streets Barber Instagram account will make tears fall too. Check out this sad sorry about a homeless guy named Duat.

So not only is he homeless but his addiction problems are thanks to asshole friends and his disfigured face came from trying to defend his sister. There are more stories and photos here, each just as sad as the next.

It really makes a person think about the homeless and what caused them to end up on the street. I’m sure they’ve all got their sad tale. Even Billy Joel guy. I think I’ll pass on asking him his story though.
