If you have a “food bucket list” that includes delicious flavor concoctions like donuts with beef brisket and pizza with 99 types of cheeses, these potato chips are a must-eat. At the winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco, Food Beast discovered a delectable treat being touted as Guinness-flavored potato chips, made by Burt’s Potato Chip. I’ve had all sorts of Guinness-flavored food items before, but usually they were dessert-related: Guinness cheesecake, Guinness coffee creamer, Guinness ice cream. Hell, I’ve used a pint of Guinness in my chili recipe for years. But this is the first I’ve heard of the Irish stout’s signature flavor being incorporated into something deep-fried and salty.
There are two flavors: Plain old Guinness and Rich Beef Chili. Both are getting rave reviews from the people who have tried them. Look for them at all places Burt’s Chips are available in the future, or grab them on Amazon where they are selling like hot cakes: $42.99 for a pack of 20 small, 40-gram bags.
