William L. Mattson tried to ring in the new year in a very strange and malicious way; by trying to rape his nephew’s girlfriend.
The 52-year-old South Carolina man was quite the giving host when his nephew and girlfriend came over for a New Year’s Eve gathering. Apparently the boyfriend dropped his girlfriend at the house where his father and uncle live. When he returned he heard “moaning” coming from inside his room. The nephew told investigators that he kicked the door in and found his uncle on top of his girlfriend. He then went on a flying-fist barrage on his uncle, completely brutalizing his face.
Meanwhile Mattson told authorities that he “hugged and kissed” his nephew’s girlfriend after drinking with her. Mattson also said the girl was naked under a blanket while he was fully clothed.
However, the girlfriend told police that the uncle attacked her and it was definitely not consensual.
Mattson was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
On the bright side, the uncle could now be a zombie extra in The Walking Dead.
