When Edward Snowden revealed the extent of NSA surveillance on the American citizenry, many were quick to point out the parallels between that and George Orwell’s 1984.
This story is like that, except with a giraffe being decapitated and The Hangover 3.
I didn not see that movie (nor have I read 1984), but I know this happened.
Well, in South Africa, Thinus Botha posted this to Twitter.
The story is real. It’s not viral marketing. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in South Africa confirmed the incident.
“All we can ascertain at this stage is severe head trauma. We are continuing our investigation with the view to possibly lay criminal charges against those responsible,” said the SPCA’s Rick Allan.
Ouch.
