Anonymity on the Internet is a pretty special phenomenon, as it allows anyone to say anything they want without fear of any repercussion. A faceless, nameless troll can hurl all sorts of insults without thinking twice, because in their mind it’s not even a real person they’re talking to.
However, as we see in this original video from Mic ‘Feminists Read Mean Tweets’ there is actually someone on the other end of that tweet you just sent. Playing off of the Jimmy Kimmel concept ‘celebrities reading mean tweets’, here we’ve got some outspoken feminists who in the Twitter community have been the targets of countless troll attacks.
What truly blows my mind here though is how they’re able to read these disgustingtweets with a straight face:
