Driver Attempts To Bypass Carpool Lane With Cardboard Cutout Of ‘The Most Interesting Man In The World’

We’ve all been there. If you’re like me, you snooze your alarm 22 times before waking up, putting some gel on your cowlick and heading to your car with one shoe on to make it to work at a reasonable hour. You get on the highway where you sit and watch carpool lane cars zip by you until you can’t take it any more. So you gun it into the HOV lane and hope to God a police officer isn’t waiting for you at the end. And like anything is life, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

And a driver from Washington state lost, valiantly.

A motorcycle trooper parked alongside Interstate 5 near Tacoma on Monday noticed a driver with a rather skinny passenger whiz by him in the carpool lane. When the trooper stopped the car, he noticed a cardboard cutout of the “Most Interesting Man in the World” featured in the legendary Dos Equis ads.

The driver responded perfectly: “He’s my best friend.”

The driver got hit with a $124 ticket and was told not to bring his buddy along again.

If I were the officer, I would have reached into my pocket and handed the driver $124 for that genius stunt. You have to respect that play.

After the incident, the State Patrol tweeted: “I don’t always violate the HOV lane law…but when I do I get a $124 ticket.” Ok tight ass.
