Celebrating the 4th of July as a boy was just about the best holiday on the calendar next to Christmas. Sure, you didn’t get any gifts, but you got to throw smoke bombs, watch fireworks at night, and most of all blow some shit up.
As an adult we still get to do those things, but somewhere along the way things got changed a bit.
