Stoner Bros: Here’s The Difference Between Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Indica

What’s the difference between cannabis sativa and cannabis indica? This is a question that has probably crossed the minds of many marijuana smoker once they start to look into the many varietals of kind bud out there in the world. It’s a plant, after all, and like any other plant, there are different subspecies. You don’t exactly have to be a connoisseur or rocket scientist to realize different strains do different things.

In the case of marijuana, the subspecies break down to two major ones: cannabis sativa and cannabis indica. High Times tells me that both do the same things (like make you want to eat Doritos while mellowing out to Bob Marley’s Kaya) yet have unique differences in the types of highs they produce. Strains like Kush belongs to the indica family while strains like Sour Diesel, Purple Haze, and Maui Waui are sativas.

This cannabis sativa vs. cannabis indica chart, found on Imgur, is a pretty helpful guide for knowing the difference between the two subspecies, Bros.
