A few weeks ago we told you about the heroics of retired Marine Cpl. Kyle Carpenter. Earlier today he was honored by President Obama at the White House as the youngest recipient of the Medal of Honor for his bravery in combat.

While wandering around the White House this evening, Carpenter bumped into Foo Fighter’s guitarist David Grohl. Since it’s 2014, they posed for an Insta pic. It is truly awesome.

And while we’re on the subject… Can we just note how awesome Kyle’s Instagram handle is? @chiksdigscars. You are not wrong. That, sir, is badass.

Congratulations and thank you for your bravery and sacrifice, Kyle. People like you are what make this nation the finest in the world.

A few more pics from his Medal of Honor tour around Washington D.C., including his reunion with his buddies at a Nats game. What a Bro.
