The hate group Westboro Baptist Church is made up of very evil, yet crafty people who understand the laws of this land, and do the necessary paperwork to protest everything from the funerals of soldiers to Kansas City Chiefs games to the funerals of the children slaughtered at the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings. They hope to spread their word that God hates homosexuals, God hates abortion, God hates Judaism, God hates Islam, God hates the Foo Fighters and God hates peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They’re not a real chipper group over at the WBC, and probably a real drag to invite to your fun beach house party.
Back on September 16, 2011, the Westboro Baptist Church picketed the Foo Fighters show in Kansas City, Missouri and even called them “douchebags” and of course informed them that “God hates them.” Which just shows you how nefarious they are because who hates Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters? Apparently the WBC didn’t appreciate Grohl and the boys’ homoerotic sexy shower music video called “Hot Buns.” The song had provocative gay trucker lyrics such as, “Driving all night, got a hankering for something/Think I’m in the mood for some hot-man muffins/Mmmm, sounds so fine, yes indeed.” When the “Christian” group picketed, the Foo Fighters responded to their protest by giving them a free show. The Foo dressed as a country band from the “Hot Buns” video, and sang a little ditty called “Keep It Clean.”
During an interlude in the song, Grohl gave an inspiring message, “God Bless America! It takes all kinds; I don’t care if you’re black or white or purple or green, whether you’re Pennsylvanian or Transylvanian, Lady gaga or Lady Antebellum. Men loving women and women loving men and men loving men and women loving women — you all know we like to watch that. But what I’d like to say is, God Bless America, y’all!” That didn’t exactly change their opinions and make the Westboro Baptist Church love them.
On Friday, the Foo Fighters returned to the Sprint Center in Kansas City, and once again the Westboro Baptist Church was outside protesting. And once again the Foo Fighters trolled the shit out of the hate group by giving them a free show. This time they drove by in a pickup truck blaring Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up,” and held up signs saying, “YOU GOT RICKROLL’D (again)” and “Keep It Clean.”
The WBC responded by calling the Foo Fighters “Poo Flingers.” Jesus! How is Dave Grohl ever going to come back from that fierce roast!?!?
