What Countries Suck at Getting Their Fuck On?

Omnipotent online deity Vox decided this week to bequeath upon us unworthy servants the knowledge of our own sexual habits.

Thanks Vox! Praise be to Vox!

So what is everyone doing when they are doing it around the world?

Vox tackled such questions as “What countries have the most exciting sex?” and “What countries are the least sexually satisfied?” and “Where are the biggest discrepancies in male-female orgasms?”

I am about to share with you Vox’s findings, but please note, reading further will bring you to a state of enlightenment greater than you have ever know. All hail Ezra.

Japanese people are the world’s least sexually satisfied.

Japan is the only country in the world where a higher percentage of people report being dissatisfied with their sex lives than satisfied. The simplest explanation for Japan’s sexual woes is that they’re just not doing it. Thirty-four percent of Japanese folk report having sex weekly.

Mexicans, Vox says, have the most exciting sex life, while 76% of Italians report having sex weekly.

Interestingly, feminism isn’t helping women get theirs.

The thing that’s most surprising about this is there’s virtually no correlation between a country’s overall level of gender equality and its orgasm gap. Some comparatively egalitarian countries, like Spain, score fairly well, while others, like the US and Canada, score poorly. Likewise, some nations with obviously larger gender inequalities in terms of social status and employment, like India, do better, while Thailand does poorly.

What this suggests, then, is that improvements in women’s standings around society do not always translate to improvements in sexual partnerships.

Also, Asians are the oldest when it comes to losing their virginity. If you’d like to read directly from the Book of Vox, click here.
