Just A Little Bit Of Cocaine Left This Bro Paralyzed For Life, So Maybe Rethink That Line A Stranger Offers You

The two greatest words in the English language are “Free cocaine,” although it’s never really uttered like that. No one says, “Hey, free cocaine here.” It’s usually more like, “You want a hit of this,” which, if not followed by a request for monetary compensation implies the drug is being offered without cost.

But strange cocaine can be dangerous, and one mother is on a quest to make you rethink free cocaine from randoms (and I guess probably the whole use of drugs thing in general) after her son took some cocaine on New Years and collapsed four days later, falling into a coma.

Carl Ayres, then 28, suffered a life-changing stroke just five days after taking cocaine on New Year’s Eve last year.

At one point, his life support machine was due to be switched off.

Thankfully, he survived, but has been left unable to talk or walk – and his mother Julie Ayres, 50, says she now has to wipe his bottom.

Mr Ayres took cocaine at a local pub in Farnborough, Hampshire, on New Year’s Eve last year.

Then, on January 4, the ex-marine went for a five-mile run, which is believed to have triggered high blood pressure and caused a slow-moving clot to develop.

Ayres only recently regained the use of his arms. Doctors believe whatever the cocaine was cut with was responsible for the damage.

Ayres’ mom says she is now sharing pictures of him on social media to teach others about the danger of cocaine use.

‘People think it won’t happen to them. Carl is proof it can.

‘But I still see people in Farnborough taking cocaine. How close to home do they need it to happen?

‘I see them and think, “You selfish little sods. You could put your mother and father though what we’re going through”.

So before you bump, think of mum.
