Bro Or Not Bro: Son Of Long-Time Christian College President Shares Shocking Video Of Catching His Dad Having An Affair

This is a real moral conundrum right here for Paul Epting. He is the son of Dr. Jimmy Epting, former president of a Baptist college in South Carolina. The younger Epting exposed his father’s alleged affair by releasing a damning video of what appears to be the elder Epting having a rendezvous with a woman who is not his wife.

For 23-years Jimmy Epting was the president of North Greenville University, where the Southern Baptist university’s motto is “Christ Makes the Difference.” However Epting abruptly resigned in January to the surprise of many. Randall Pannell, NGU’s chief academics officer said Epting, “has championed the blending of academia and faith at the university in a remarkable way.” However it doesn’t seem that Jimmy had faith in his marriage.

The video begins by Paul saying to the camera, “Here we go. It might be a bad day.” He then enters the house, where it takes him a mind-boggling 50 seconds to unlock the door. His dad greets him with a “Oh hey buddy.” That’s when the son bursts by his father to find a woman by the name of “Kelly” in the bathroom. Unfortunately she is completely dressed thanks to Paul’s inability to unlock a door.

“No, I know exactly what you’re doing,” Paul says. “Why? It’s over, Dad. This is done. I have you on video. It’s done.”

Apparently this shocking footage was recorded last October, three months before the Epting announced that he would be taking a sabbatical for the Spring 2015 semester.

James Epting has refused to comment on the video.

Beverly Hawkins, chair of North Greenville University Board of Trustees, issued a statement:

North Greenville University’s leaders are expected to lead Christ-centered lives and abide by all campus policies and procedures. The administration and faculty on campus today reflect our legal, moral and ethical expectations. We take our responsibilities as leaders of a Christian institution seriously and hold each member of our community to the highest of standards.

As an institution, our promise is to combine an academic environment with a Christ-like lifestyle and provide students with opportunities for spiritual growth, academic training and Christian service.

We will continue to focus our efforts on celebrating the start of the academic year with our students and ask that we be allowed to focus on the traditions of our campus and our bright future as a community.

So is Paul a bro for defending his mother and calling his dad out for cheating or was it unbro of him to make this personal issue a public matter by releasing the video, which appears to have subsequently ended his father’s career?
