Despite hinting that he wanted to play for the New York Knicks, Chris Paul has been traded to the Los Angeles Lakers as per various media outlets. The deal would involve three teams, Lakers, Hornets, and Rockets. The Lakers would receive Paul, the Rockets would get big man Pau Gasol, and the Hornets would pick up Lamar Odom, Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, and Goran Dragic. There is also a good chance that New Orleans will also acquire draft picks, but those are not confirmed as of yet.

Speaking of the rich getting richer, the Lakers are also reported to have a trade offer to the Orlando Magic to obtain the best center in the league, Dwight Howard. In this deal Los Angeles would trade promising, but fragile big man, Andrew Bynum. If the Lakers are able to pull off these two mega deals the NBA might as well cancel the season and have the Lakers and Heat play a best of 66.
