Between Manti Te’o’s fake girlfriend Lennay Kekua and the MTV television show ‘Catfish’ we’ve pretty much all heard about catfishing by now. That said, until I read through this infographic on catfishing (below) from the website FreeDating I had no idea just how common catfishing was out there in the world.
Before you scroll below and have your mind grapes blown to pieces by these catfishing stats I want to throw a few your way:
54% of people believe someone they’ve met via online dating has used false information, and a survey found that women are 50% more likely to give false information online than men. 1 out of every 10 online dating profiles is FAKE.
