Tl;dr: Cockblock of the century turns into cute wedding proposal. Yes, that means the proposal wasn’t cute in the first place — dude was gonna propose to her in a Mexican chain restaurant. Ew. Like yeah sure she’s got a kid and that kid probably likes tacos, but would you really wanna pop the question in what I’m guessing is like a nicer version of California Tortilla? Bleghhhh.
Anyway.
Nicholas Anderson was about to propose to his girlfriend Deanna Deal (what a name) in a Salsarita’s located in Hickory, North Carolina, when a robber burst in and ruined the whole thing. Boo. Instead of pooping himself and taking that as a sign that maybe the two shouldn’t get married, he grabbed robber Graham Wilson Kiziah in a chokehold, put him out cold and then took Deanna and her son, Brighton to a nearby park to propose. Spoiler alert: she said yes.
But Nicholas Anderson simply grabbed the suspect in a chokehold as he tried to flee, put him out cold and then got on with the task at hand.

Yeah no shit the kid picked some chain restaurant to pop the question in. His first choice was probably McDonald’s and then Nicholas had to draw the line somewhere. “Brighton I don’t CARE if you want a happy meal toy, I am NOT popping the question inside of McDick’s.”
In tackling the roober, his act of heroism was greeted with applause by other diners.
Nick told NBC Charlotte: ‘The manager came to the door and locked the door. The guy behind the manager pushed him out of the way and unlocked the door.’
That’s when he sprang into action, grabbing suspect Graham Wilson Kiziah around the neck and choking him, putting him out cold within seconds.
Luckily Nick and Brighton had a back up venue, driving over to nearby Winkler Park so Nick could propose to Deanna – who still had no idea what he had planned. Luckily, she said yes.(via)
Kiziah has been charged with one count of common law robbery (what the fuck is that) and two counts of robbery with firearms or other dangerous weapons, according to Daily Mail.
