One suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings is dead and the other is the subject of a massive and focused manhunt early this morning as the situation intensified rapidly overnight.
Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed in a shootout with police after a wild police chase through the suburbs. His brother, 19-year-old Dzhokhar, was able to escape. The brothers are believed to be Chechen.
As authorities search for the younger brother, the city and its surrounding areas are virtually shut down.
