According to reports, Russia launched a Proton-M rocket today that was carrying three satellites for the GLONASS navigation system. Shortly after liftoff, however, things went terribly wrong and the rocket fell out of the sky, exploding into the nearby Baikonur Cosmodrome. Word is that no one was killed by the failed rocket launch.
The video from a distance of the accident and explosion is pretty incredible. Too bad this isn't on a dashcam. That'd be just about the most Russian thing ever.
Wait for the aftershock. Wait for it, wait for it... WOAH!!!!
