16-Year-Old Sneaks Past Sleeping Security Guard and Climbs to Top of World Trade Center

In a scene right out of an ’80s teen comedy, a 16-year-old sneaked past a conked-out security guard and climbed to the 104th floor of the World Trade Center on Sunday night. For two hours he hung out on the roof, just beneath the skyscraper’s huge spire, taking photos with his cell phone and basking in being the tallest bro on the Western Hemisphere.

It was only when Justin Casquejo took the elevator down at around 6 a.m. that he was caught by a construction worker, who immediately called the police. Cops charged Casquejo with misdemeanor trespassing, but he seems pretty okay with it all—at least based off this hilarious quote he gave to the New York Post: “Ha ha, oh yeah, that. Right. I would really love to talk to you guys because I have a lot that I want to say about it,” he said. “I was told that I just can’t [talk] without permission.”

And this tweet:

I wanna see the photos of this excursion so badly. But that may never happen: Casquejo’s cell was confiscated as soon as he made it back to land.

BOO. If you can make it up to the top of the WTC with that security, by god you should get to keep the souvenirs. It’s only fair.
