Two weeks ago, an Amish girl named Emma captured the momentary fascination of Google Trends and the Internet after appearing on Howard Stern to promote an underwear line and revealing glamor shots for New American Pin-up. The sheer absurdity of a nekked Amish model immediately piqued our interest, so we immediately began working the phones to track her down for an exclusive BroBible interview. Shortly after her appearance on Stern, Emma was fired from her waitress job by a tyrannical boss back in Pennsylvania and erroneously dubbed a "adult entertainment star" by some websites. If you're trying to find nekked photos or videos of her getting railed in a barn by a bearded carpenter named Amos, don't bother. She's never performed in an actual adult entertainment, so searching for "Amish Porn" on RedTube would probably be as futile as getting an Amish farmer behind the wheel of a John Deere.
See, here's the thing about Emma. Although she was born and raised Amish in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, she's not exactly driving around in horse and buggy or cooking shoe-fly pie in a bonnet between nekked photoshoots. She's not even Amish... anymore. According to Salon, she left the strict Amish community during rumspringa, a coming-of-age ritual where Amish youth are permitted to leave the family and explore the temptations and wonders of the outside world for two years. Think Randy Quaid in "Kingpin." The 20-year-old model hasn't returned to the Amish lifestyle since leaving the community a year and a half ago. Her first foray into modeling included posing nekked for New American Pin-Up and offering her undies for a $39.99 "Shoo-Fly Pie Panty Pack," which included a shoe-fly pie along with a pair of panties. (She wasn't happy about pedaling her wares and so recently had it pulled from the company's website.) After the jump, Emma talks about why she'll never pose topl*ss again, how the Amish party, and Amish attitudes towards sex.
BroBible: You've had a busy last couple of days...
Emma: I have. It's been crazy busy since I've gotten back from the Stern show.
What's happened since then?
I was kind of taking it easy for a little bit because, when my family found out about it all, it just kind of put me down.
I heard you lost your job?
Yeah, I lost my job over this. Somebody found the pictures from the New American Pin-up website. Someone sent them to my boss and he's Mennonite. He didn't approve of it, so they fired me.
I'm sorry to hear about that. You're also working on a "Miami Ink" segment?
We didn't schedule anything, but I think we're going to do it.
So, you actually grew up Amish?
I did, yeah.
When did you cast it away?
I left a year and a half ago, when I was 18. But, from the day I turned 16, I was on my own and did my own thing. When I was 18, I decided to leave because I knew that Amish life was not what I wanted.
When did you decide you wanted to be a model?
I've always wanted to be one. When I was Amish, I kept thinking, "I'd love to do this and that" and modeling was one of those things I'd love to do. Lately people have been asking me if I'm a model and I'm like, "No..." and they go, "You should be one!" That just really encouraged me to go out there and look for something.
Right now you're doing the thing with New American Pin-up. What do you see yourself ideally doing?
Well, I won't go farther than anything with a bikini or I could model underwear. I'm fine with that. I won't do anything with nud*ty. People don't understand. Yeah, I've already done nud*ty, but I'm just not going to do that again. I found out that's just not what I want.
Amish teenagers have quite a reputation when they're young for partying hard and doing drugs. We're just wondering what it's like in that community...
When I was still Amish, I know there was a lot of drinking and drugs going around in the Amish communities. A lot of people don't know it. They all do it behind their parents' back.
Do the Amish have a noticeably different attitude about sex than others?
Well, I know amongst the Amish, the guy gets his thing done and then doesn't take care of his women. I know some men who do take care of their women, but a lot of men don't.
Do you think that's a problem for Amish women?
I don't even know if they know the difference. They don't know it any other way, so how would they know?
A lot of people are reporting you to be a adult entertainment star. Have you actually done adult entertainment?
No, no, no. I know a lot of people look at my pictures and they think "well, she's going to get into adult entertainment." It's not going to go that way. I don't want to be that way.
Do you think there's a market for Amish adult entertainment?
No. Definitely not.
What was it like to do Stern?
It was a very nice experience. I was never in New York City. I was in Philadelphia once, but New York City is like twice as big. The show went well and I had a lot of fun.
Can you tell us a little bit about what you're doing with New American Pin-up?
I guess I'm just on his website. I want people to know that I want to be a model. I want to go out there and find a good modeling agency to model for. That's what I'm looking for.
Part of the gimmick with New American Pin-Up included getting a pair of your panties along with a book...
Oh, yeah. They took those off. I had no idea he was putting that up. He didn't ask me, he just put them up without my permission. I didn't approve of it. I guess he was doing that for a while, but I told him to take them off. That's gross.
