As we mentioned earlier, Tiger Woods tees off from Augusta's first tee Thursday at 1:42 p.m. Although we're sure ESPN (and many other networks) will break into their coverage to bring you that momentous first drive, the Worldwide Leader's first-round action won't get underway until 4 p.m. And the commercial that will air just before our first glimpse of Tiger? We guarantee it will be the new Nike Golf commercial, which actually debuted on TV this afternoon. The black-and-white ad features Tiger staring directly into the camera, the familiar Swoosh emblazoned on his sweater vest just above his heart, the sound of his father's voice ringing in his ears. Earl talks about responsibility and asks about whether one can learn from his mistakes, and it makes us wonder: will we see a follow-up ad where Tiger does the talking (and answering).
