My Dad is a Bro

Bros, remember our book from last year, MY DAD IS A BRO? Well we're now making it into a TV show. A major television production company, LIONSGATE ("Mad Men," "Blue Mountain State"), and BroBible are casting Bros and their Bro-Dads to be featured on a new TV show. If your dad is a party animal and can put you and any of your friends to shame, or is just an over-the-top personality who lives it up (i.e. he got more drunk at Parents' Weekend than you did), then we want to hear about him. In the quick and easy form after the jump, submit to us videos or photos and a short description of your Bro-Dad. This information will be kept private and viewed for casting purposes only.

My Dad is a Bro

"My Dad is a Bro" is BroBible's first-ever book, published by Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery in May 2011, just in time for Father's Day.

In June 2010, the BroBible team created a Tumblr photo blog called "My Dad is a Bro" to honor the most important man in a Bro's life: The man he calls "dad." Hundreds of BroBible readers submitted hilarious photos of their dads chugging beer bongs, doing a keg-stands, catching trophy fish, smoking cigars, chest-bumping with the buds, and other feats of young-at-heart masculine awesomeness. L Magazine called "My Dad is a Bro" "Mid-Life Crisis in Tumblr Form," and chimed in with praise:

"Old people doing kid things are awesome (and empowering, in an anti-agist sort of way), but middle-aged men behaving like frat boys, the exclusive subject of the new Tumblr My Dad Is a Bro, are rather alarming. As you'd expect, keg stands, beer bongs and beer pong are regular fixtures. Cheers to a regressive parental culture!

The site went viral before Father's Day and My Dad is a Bro: The Book" was soon in the works through Simon and Schuster. The book hit stores nationwide on May 10, 2011:

He teaches you how to swing a baseball bat, grill a steak, and master a stick shift. Dad helps you laugh off a breakup, guides you on big decisions, and doesn’t tell your Mom when he catches you hooking up with a girl—yet still warns you to “wrap it up” because he’s “not ready to be a grandfather.” The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree . . . when it comes to being a Bro.

Loaded with hundreds of hilarious, never-before-seen photos and based on the wildly popular photo blog from the editors of BroBible.com, the ultimate destination for Bros, MY DAD IS A BRO captures the epic Bro hijinks and conquests of Dads everywhere.

Whether he’s puffing on a cigar, executing a keg stand, fishing for a trophy, posing with cheerleaders, or running the table in beer pong—celebrate the old man at his Bro-est. Nothing says father-son bonding like the time-honored tradition of shot-gunning a fresh brew.
