I made a comment to a buddy last night that Ohio State has seemed like a team of destiny this postseason. On paper, the Buckeyes shouldn't be this good: Their only real scorer is Deshaun Thomas, they rank 110th in the country in offensive production, and I've heard people say, with a straight face, that their red-faced point guard, Aaron Craft, is a "better version of Greg Paulus." You don't want to invite that comparison. However, they've also won 11 straight (including victories over then-No. 2 Indiana and No. 4 Michigan State). And Craft's ballsy three to beat Iowa State was some serious "we know what we're doing here" shit.
Last night, it was LaQuinton Ross's turn. Off a pass from Craft on the wing, Ross drilled a three-pointer to edge Ohio State over Arizona and send the team to the Elite Eight, where it has a favorable matchup in Wichita State. Team of destiny?
