It snowed in Cairo today for the first time in 112 years

It’s snowing in Cairo, Egypt today, a place that hasn’t seen snow in 112 years. Occasionally Cairo gets rainfall in December but obviously nothing like this. Temperatures dropped to 36 degrees Fahrenheit Friday morning which led to a snow/sleet mixture in Cairo’s eastern suburbs. The unseasonably cool temps will continue through Saturday.

Here are some pictures from Cairo residents.
