SNL ridicules Donald Sterling with the help of Adam Silver and Dennis Rodman

The Donald Sterling racism story has absolutely dominated the headlines over the past week so you knew that Saturday Night Live was going to go after the scandalized L.A. Clippers owner and his tainted views. The skewering did not take long at all as the show’s cold open had a press conference to announce that Sterling was willing to sell the Clippers for a mere $1 billion. New NBA commissioner Adam Silver opened the dialogue by finding the good in Sterling’s repulsive actions, “I have gotten more high-fives from black people this week than any week in my life.” Sterling, played by Bobby Moynihan with an odd accent, was next to the mic where he introduced Dennis Rodman, played wonderfully by Jay Pharoah, to show that he has black friends. Then Sterling argued that he is not a bigot trading in his former mistress, Ms. Stiviano who is half black, for a new mistress who is 3/4 black. Then Sterling invited former Los Angeles NAACP chapter president Leon Jenkins to the stage to present him with a second lifetime achievement award, which brought some awkwardness.
