Company shocked people aren’t stoked about their ad with a dead dog

Sneaker company Pearl Izumi wants to sell its shoes. Unfortunately, a photo of a guy giving CPR to his dead dog is probably not doing the trick.

The company issued an apology on their Facebook page saying:

“We would like to sincerely apologize to everyone for the ad that ran in Canadian Running Magazine.

As most of us here at Pearl Izumi are dog owners, we want you to know we would never, ever do anything to harm an animal.

Please know that we have deleted the ad and removed it from all future publications.

Sincerely,
Pearl Izumi”

You can push the envelope but the second there’s a dog lying on the floor like it can’t move, I’m all out. In fact, I don’t think I’m going to run again out of spite for this one ad. Has nothing to do with the fact I’d rather binge drink and eat fried things. No such thing at all. Entirely dead dog related.
