This is what $1,000 in rent gets you across the USA (Hint: NYC is brutal)

We all know that the value of a dollar is pretty much worthless in NYC, but what about the other great cities across the nation? How far will your dollar go in terms of rent? Let’s find out.

So there you have it, in Cleveland you get about 7x more for your money (in terms of space, not quality of living) than you do here in the Big Apple….Can you tell that I’m not a native New Yorker since I said Big Apple? Hell, we used to pay ~$450/mo down in Florida in college for a 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath house with a backyard that’s about 5x the size of my current NYC apartment.

It’s all about adjusting that quality of living to fit what you want. Me? I want bars that are open until 4am and Michelin rated restaurants that I can only afford to eat at once a year, but still go anyways despite the lack of adult savings…is that so wrong?
