Baskin-Robbins Pays Tribute To Our Nation’s Veterans With New Camouflage Ice Cream

Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream is making headlines today after debuting their new ‘Camouflage Ice Cream’ as a salute to veterans everywhere in honor of 2014 Veteran’s Day, falling next week, November 11th, 2014.

Announcing it via their Facebook page, the camouflage medley of chocolate, salty caramel, and cake combine to mimic one of our military’s most recognizable patters of camouflage. And this is their ‘Flavor of the Month’ in honor of next week’s Veteran’s Day. It’s also a completely badass idea…that’s somehow terrible executed.

Camouflage ice cream as a tribute just doesn’t feel right. It feels cheap and corny, and more like a marketing ploy than an actual tribute. But, the sentiment is there and I can totally get on board with that.

From FOX2Now:

Baskin-Robbins will honor our nations veterans during the month of November with special camouflage ice cream and waffle cones.

The flavor of the month is “First Class Camouflage.”

If you’re in the mood for chocolate, salty caramel, and cake flavored ice cream, this is just for you! “First Class Camouflage” can also be purchased in a layered Sundae that includes Oreo cookie pieces, caramel praline topping and hot fudge.

Baskin-Robbins will donate $0.10 cents from each ice cream scoop sold on Veterans Day. The proceeds will benefit United Service Organizations in honor of U.S. troops, military families and veterans.

What do you think bros? Is this an earnest tribute or just a cheap marketing scam? Am I wrong to think that someone somewhere is doing this from a profiteering standpoint? Answers down below in the comments.
