In today's maddening world of Twitter feeds and YouTube, sometimes screwing up is the greatest thing that can ever happen to you. Just ask Miss Utah Marissa Powell, who went viral on Sunday night after after a Derek Zoolander-esque answer at the Miss USA pageant. On Tuesday night she went on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss her baffling answer about women's equality and education.
Turns out Miss Marissa Powell, who has completely upstaged the actual winner, Miss Connecticut, is pretty damn charismastic. You know what? Although I hate beauty pageants and the people who associate themselves with them, props to Miss Utah for owning this like a champ. It takes some bravado to go on national television and say, "Yeah, I know I sounded like a complete dumbass. Man, did I mess that one up." That's not the type of hubris I'd expect from a Miss Insert-Any-State's-Name-Here.
Hey look, she can sing, too!
