Girls

If you head out to the beach this weekend, expect to see a lot of hot girls with dragon tattoos. No, it’s not a new trend in tramp stamps — it’s the number one bestselling paperback book in the country. “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” by Stieg Larsson is the talk of the publishing world, sitting at the top of the New York Times’ trade paperback bestsellers list, on which it’s appeared for 50 weeks. Its sequel, “The Girl Who Played with Fire” sits at number two on the paperback list, while the third book in the trilogy, “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest,” is at the top of the hardcover fiction bestseller’s list. “Dragon Tattoo” is based in Sweden and is about “a hacker and a journalist investigating the disappearance of a Swedish heiress.” Trust us, everyone on the beach will be reading one of these three books this summer.

So why should you care? (Other than the fact that the books are supposed to be great and worth the read.) Because the biggest fight in Hollywood right now is over the casting for the two lead roles in what promises to be a blockbuster trilogy (a Swedish-language version of the first book has already been produced).

Brad Pitt and Daniel Craig are both circling the male lead, but the race for the female lead is what has everyone buzzing. It’s a who’s who of young, hot Hollywood starlets, and so we thought we’d help Sony Pictures figure out who to cast among the following actresses, all of whom are dying to land the role: Scarlett Johansson, Natalie PortmanKeira Knightley, Anne Hathaway, Carey Mulligan, Ellen Page, Kristen Stewart, Mia Wasikowska, and Olivia Thirlby.

Our method: Who Would You Rather Bang? After the jump, check out hot photos of all the girls and let us know in the Comments who you’d want on your casting couch.
