Year after son-of-a-bitchin' year, technology takes a dump on my childhood. Transformers were far and away my favorite toys when I was a kid but some of them were real pains in my ass, and took what felt like days to put back together. Did anyone else have the Autobot Airplane (here)? It was made from metal, first of all -- woah, that's not safe -- and it was the hardest thing to "transform;" getting it from airplane to robot was a bloody experience in my household. Anyway, I'd have killed for them to transform on their own or by the push of a button. Some Japanese robot experts have finally heard my plea and have made the first toy to transform itself from an unassuming pedestrian car to walking robot. All remote controlled, of course, but this thing is still so awesome it pisses me off.
