Every January I look forward to keeping tabs on what's getting revealed at Detroit's annual North American International Auto Show. For me, the Detroit Auto Show kind of feels like NFL preseason power rankings applied to the car industry. It gives even the most casual automobile enthusiast -- myself included -- an idea of what the major automakers are bringing to the development table over the next year. Plus, it's always fun to see the concept cars and supercars that make a splash and tickle one's wildest delusions of grandeur. In case you, dear BroBible reader, haven't been paying attention to car blogs elsewhere, I've compiled nine notable debuts at this year's Detroit Auto Show. Though the show continues until January 22, these are the whips that every guy out there should know about so far.

Falcon F7
If you're a regular reader of automotive blogs, you probably know that Falcon Motorsports has been planning on getting in the commercial supercar game for quite a few years. This year, the American company presented the sleek, burnt-orange Falcon F7 supercar concept. The goal is noble in its patriotic intent: If you're looking at plopping down a quarter million for a super car, why buy Italian when you can buy American? According to Motor Authority, it plans on producing 20 units of the vehicle year for a cool $225,000 a pop. Here's what you're getting for the pricetag: a 7.0-liter LS7 engine packing over 620 horsepower, capable of 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph.

Maserati Kubang Concept
Maserati decided that the high-end exotic SUV market needed a solid shake up. So in 2014 the Italians at Fiat will be pitted against the Germans to give the Porsche Cayenne a run for her money. Their weapon of choice is the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 Maserati Kubang, which vaguely resembles a Jeep Grand Cherokee dressed in a Maserati fur coat. No word on just how high the price will actually be.

Acura NSX Concept
Show of hands if you remember the old Acura NSX supercar of the '90s. Honda modernized the car into a lightweight hybrid V6 concept that feels vaguely familiar to the Audi R8. Rumor has it that Iron Man will be driving the NSX on the big screen in Tony Stark's forthcoming blockbuster, "The Avengers," out later this year.

The GT 500 50th Anniversary Super Snake
Back in the day the Detroit Auto Show was all about flexing American muscle. In that tradition comes this special edition of perhaps the most celebrated Mustang. 2012 marks Shelby America's 50th birthday. So to celebrate they're producing 300 anniversary edition Shelby Mustangs: the Shelby GT500 Super Snake, GT350, and GTS. Only 50 white and 50 black units of each special edition are being rolled out. Pricing ranges from $19,995 to $59,995, plus the price of the Mustang from Ford.

The 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL
"Is it a coupe or is it a roadster?" is the question concerning the Mercedes new SL SL550. Well, it's both, packaged with a hardtop retractable roof that's new to the SL series. It's also quite powerful, boasting a 4.5 zero-to-60 thanks to its 4.6-liter, biturbo direct-injection V-8 engine.

The 2013 Scion FR-S
The world got its first look at the FR-S (meaning Front engine, Rear-wheel drive, Sport) in New York last spring. Having only been around since 2002, the FR-S 2013 that hit in Detroit is probably the first time I've gotten excited about a Scion. It's slender and curvy and hugs the road in all the right ways a classic sports car should. With a pricetag south of $30k, it's also one of the few new cars on this list you'll actually be able to afford.

2012 911 Carrera Cabriolet
The 911 debuted in L.A. last month, but the folks at Porsche discretely concealed the Cabriolet to "wow" the crowd in Detroit with a big reveal. Take note of the soft top's voluptuous read end, which could perhaps best be described as "applebottom-esque."

Audi Q3 Vail Concept
This small German SUV is basically a mash-up of Audi's A3 hatchback and Q5 full-size SUV. The Q3 packs a 314-horsepower 2.5 liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine and will compete predominately against the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK. It will be on the market in Europe later this year and in American showrooms sometime in 2013.
