Rory McIlroy Had His Golf Shoes For The Irish Open Designed By Kids With Cancer And They Are AWESOME

If you don’t pay attention to golf (shame on you) then you probably haven’t noticed that golfers’ “uniforms” are more unique than ever. The sport has been trending that way for a few years now (Hooray, Uniform Porn!) and there are a lot of pros leading the charge of on-course fashion. Rory McIlroy, with his love of Nike’s volt color, is certainly one of them.

When it comes to taking major fashion risks, McIlroy is obviously (and thankfully) more tame than Rickie Fowler and Ian Poulter, but he’s also not considered a bland dresser like Matt Kuchar or Brandt Snedeker. He’s usually noticeable, while also not looking like a total eyesore. For this week’s Irish Open, though, McIlroy is allowing his shoes to be way more colorful than usual. And that’s because he will be wearing shoes designed by children who are fighting cancer. They are WILD.
