Not so sure about this one. I got a nice little 'Merican burst of pride when Tommy Lee Jones (as General Douglas MacArthur) says, "Let's show them some good ole fashioned American swagger." And I'm totally sold on Jones portraying one of the coolest cigar-chomping generals in history. 

However...  What are they really going for here? A World War II movie about the war in the Pacific, which doesn't really get as much attention as its European counterpart? Or whatever romantic subplot is going on with Matthew Fox and his Japanese lady-friend? (And by the way: oh shit, he's on a plane again!) The last thing we need is another interesting war movie that turns into a terrible love story. I still have PTSD about "Pearl Harbor."
