All stories are essentially evolved versions of old stories. Adaptations then are often just more honest versions of these stories. Kind of like a great cover or remix, they manage to take an existing work and really make that sh*t their own. 

This "Chinese Super Mario Movie" is a great example of that. 

Put on by the folks at "Dayside TV," the plot to this Mario story thickens when drug lord Bowser has his band of Koopas kidnap's the mayor's daughter, Peach, as a ploy to halt the ongoing drug investigation. The Mayor then, calls on Mario for the vital rescue mission.
