I'll be the first to tell you, if you like vulgar, offensive comedy then Rob Delaney is a must follow on Twitter. He can get political at times but as long as you ignore those specific tweets he's otherwise hilarious. Last night, Delaney went on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to perform a stand-up set and flex his comedic muscles in more than 140 characters. Things didn't go so well.
I haven't seen much of Delany's stand-up stuff but when I saw the video on YouTube this morning, I honesty clicked on it thinking I was going to be singing his praises in this post, gushing over how funny Rob was, calling this a "must-watch." Well, that's not fucking happening because I can only describe this five minute routine as DREADFUL. I don't know if he intentionally bombed (I can see him spinning it that way today on Twitter) or if he thought these half-baked stories that a person might tell at family picnic would actually blow people away, but this was ghastly.
UPDATE #1: It appears they pulled this video offline without a trace. I tried to find another one, but I think this performance is gone forever, or until Kimmel takes a vacation and they play a re-run. One thing is for sure, this stinks like Delaney had his people intentionally get this suck fest of a routine off the Internet.
UPDATE #2: VIDEO HAS BEEN FOUND!
