The video above is a trailer for the Shanghai Film Group's highy anticipated film "Amazing," starring Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony. It also will reportedly feature Magic Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Yao Ming, Yi Jinlain, and plenty of futuristic robot sh*t.
Undoubtedly fascinated by the fact that this is a thing that actually exists, Sports Grid's Matt Rudnitsky decided to investigate the matter in phenomenal fashion. After some "serious googling," he uncovered a summary from a site he deemed a Chinese version of Rotten Tomatoes. Below is the translated synposis.
“The movie … is intended to show a few urban white-collar basketball fans realized the truth of life in basketball the face of temptations. The hero of the film played by Huang Xiaoming is a game tester, testing a new “virtual reality basketball game, this virtual world is not so simple, even accidentally involved in some thrilling adventure.”
Rudnitsky goes on to describe the film as "Chinese Space Jam for adults." Ummm, YES?! COULD THERE BE A MORE APPEALING LOG LINE?!?!
The film premiers this summer, so look for weekly (if not daily) updates on what is sure to be the highlight of everyone's 2012.
