Why do they even bother with any part of the Miss America pageant that isn’t the swimsuit competition? We all know that’s truly the deciding factor.

Instead of just stripping down the event to its bare bones, we get situations like this one. Here’s Ali Rogers, better known as Miss South Carolina, answering a question on national television about Brent Musburger making verbal love to Katherine Webb. Important issue, right?

The woman competing in a beauty contest was shockingly OK with another woman being possibly objectified by her looks.  The judges must have liked what she had to say, as she finished in second place.
