Anne Hathaway, who plays Catwoman in the upcoming "Dark Knight Rises," stopped by Late Night with Dave Letterman last night to discuss the movie. What happened at around the 9-minute mark has left Batman fans outraged.

There are two possible explanations for this—either Letterman accidently let the ending slip, or—and this is more likely—he was just kidding around and playing with the enormous hype that's being generated for this movie.

Regardless, Hathaway undoubtedly looks surprised by what Letterman says, lending credence to the theory that Letterman wasn't joking. Check it out above.
